Downsizing after decades in the same house is as much sorting as it is lifting, and it can’t be rushed. Pro Express runs senior moves at the pace the family sets. Our W-2 crew works room by room, keeps the keep pile, the donate pile, and the goes-to-the-kids pile apart, and never makes anyone feel like the clock is running. Andre has helped families leave long-held Pasadena homes and retirement communities across the Valley.
We slow down for these jobs. Labeling a lifetime of boxes matters more than beating the clock, and the crew treats it that way.
How we help
- Room-by-room sorting into keep, donate, and family piles
- Careful pad-wrap on heirloom and antique pieces
- Coordination with family, executors, or a senior move manager
- Donation drop-off runs on the way back to the yard
How the day goes
- Sort first nothing loads until the piles are settled
- Wrap fragile and sentimental items padded individually
- Load at a steady pace with breaks as needed
- Set up beds made and essentials unpacked at the new place
What it costs
Most downsizing moves go hourly since the sorting time varies, at $149/hr for two movers with a three-hour minimum, or a flat quote once we see the keep pile. A $100 deposit holds the date. We’d rather quote it after a walkthrough than guess. If the new place isn’t ready, short-term storage bridges the gap. Call the LA movers who take their time, or request a quote.
